Scare Tactics Upcoming Album, "Legion," is going to be a big hit. Check out my sneak preview.
I will make the call right now, "Adapt," will be one of the finest EP's released in 2015
Falloch's "This Island, Our Funeral," is a perfect reflection of what music can and should be.
Buckle up and enjoy, what in this humble Bro's opinion, is a damn good album.
It was a nut-cuttin' cold night out in Kansas City last Monday but Bro and I wasn't about to let near single digit temperatures keep us away from The Riot Room where our good friends, and new found favorites, Final Drive were opening the show for KC's In The Shadow and nationally known thrash act Mobile Deathcamp.
Let me tell you, even though it was frigid outside, things heated up quickly when the guys took the stage right at 9:30 with vocalist Jordan Gaw commanding to all to fill the floor and everyone quickly obeyed as the band ripped into the opener, "Run For Your Life" off their most recent release, Lifeswork (click here for my review of this kick ass record!) followed by Ray's killer bass intro to "The Confession".
The remainder of the set consisted of an even mix of killer new cuts off Lifeswork and favorites such as "Down The Bottom", "As Fast As This Stolen Car Will Go" and 'All Sinners Welcome" off their 2009 release Under the Overpass of America. The guys sounded amazing and the crowd was absolutely into them embracing every song like it was their last. Jordan's voice was top notch while Chris and Nate were killed it on guitar. Alex was a powerhouse all night just destroying the skins song after song while Ray was an absolute animal on bass.
The guys closed the set with two of my favorites off Lifeswork "Buried In You" and "Exit Underground" but I have to say we were most impressed and absolutely honored when Jordan gave a Bro-Metal shout out to us and to the crowd. That's a first in our 1 year of doing this and it was a great way to start off Year 2! After the show - we got to hang and have a few drinks with all the guys and just had a great time hanging out and talking about the tour and how much the guys are looking forward to the hopefully warmer weather as they cut a path of destruction across the US on their way to the West Coast. If you get a chance you have to get out and see these guys. They will not disappoint! 5 out of 5 horns \m/\m/\m/\m/\m/ ~ Poot

No need to beat around the bush when reviewing the new EP, "Smiling Cult" from, London's Pineal. It is amazing.
Looks like Christmas came early for me! I get the pleasure of reviewing the latest album from these kick ass guys from down the road in St. Louis. Final Drive have been around since 2002 and have six albums under their belt and 2014's "Lifeswork" is in my opinion the breakthrough album for these guys. The band has a style all their own and I keep trying to find a band to compare them to but there just isn't one which is why I think this album has impressed me so much. At times I can hear the Southern bits of Pantera, and even Hellyeah, and other times I hear the brutality of Machine Head or Hatebreed and some of it is just a combination of all the above and that is okay in my book!
From beginning to end, "Lifeswork" is filled with high energy and aggression, led by singer Jordan Gaw's incredibly versatile vocals backed by heavy guitars from Chris Nanney and Nathan Easter and a pounding rhythm section of drummer Alex Wheeler and bassist Ray Tucker. This album has so many great tracks to choose from but my favorites are "No Tomorrow", "Through You", "Buried In You" and a killer cover of ZZ Top's "Just Got Paid"! All 11 tracks are amazing and truly showcase the talent this band has. My first thing to do in 2015 is to go see these badasses live but do yourselves a favor and click on the link below and buy "Lifeswork" today! You won't be disappointed and I think you'll see why I'm rating it, 9.5/10 - it kicks serious ass, I promise. ~Poot
