Dark Grungy Despair, With Soul. Bro-Metal Review: Pineal, "Smiling Cult"

No need to beat around the bush when reviewing the new EP, "Smiling Cult" from, London's Pineal.  It is amazing.  Chugging, dark, haunting, grungy and glorious, "Smiling Cult," is grunge metal.  The key word being, "metal."  This is, Alice In Chains grunge metal, metal that has soul.   With amazingly heavy vocals and riffs, this three piece juggernaut have made a beautiful EP that sounds, in my humble opinion, the way grunge metal should sound.  "Smiling Cult," is a collection of songs that will evoke feeling in your soul because the music has, actual soul.  In a day and age when a lot of music is overproduced, cookie cutter and soulless, Pineal, has gone ahead and made an EP that is the exact opposite.

With amazing tracks like, "ADL," Civil Obedience," and my personal favorite, "Acerbic," Pineal's, "Smiling Cult," is six tracks of dark and grungy despair, with soul.  I give "Smiling Cult," a Bro-Metal rating of, 9/10.  If you want to listen to grunge metal the way it should sound, then Pineal is your band and, "Smiling Cult," is your EP.  -Bro
