We started Bro-Metal.org in March of this year. It's been a great journey so far! We heard about Australia's, A Breach Of Silence shortly after we started our metal blogging journey. Their debut album, 2013's "Dead Or Alive" is an amazing album and once we heard it, we had to reach out to the band. We were able to interview, bassist Blair Layt, for our blog (link below) and he let us know that they were working on a new album. Luckily, we were able to get our hands on said album (thanks to our friends at Eclipse Records). The new album, "The Darkest Road, " which is set for release on October 7th, is without a doubt one of the best albums of 2014!
Rhys Flannery's vocals are out of this world. Rhys, has the makings of a big time front man and can bring it with a variety of different styles. Blair Layt (bass and vocals) and Andrew "Stix" Cotterell (drums), lay down the heavy grooving foundation for "A Darkest Road" and Mat "Cossie" Cosgrove and Kerrod Dablestein are an amazing guitar combo that play off each other perfectly. This band has a become a tight unit and all of the songs on, "The Darkest Road" are written, preformed and produced to perfection. Whether its the old school sounding, "Immortal," the straight up anthem, "The Darkest Road" or the punch in the face metal blaster, "Silhouette," each song on the album is a beast!
What I really dig about this band and record is how they make each song unique. If its a straight metal thumper or an anthem, each track has its own identity and its own sound. I guess that is what makes, A Breach Of Silence, the KINGS of Powercore and proves that they are poised to to have a break out year with, "The Darkest Road."
A Breach Of Silence's, "The Darkest Road," just might be the best album of 2014! I give this bad boy a 10/10.
